Bat Flightline

The netting over the fence on the right has been used to create a temporary flight line at the track trace, where 12 oaks were felled (in 2021). On our last bat walk, bats were seen flying between the flight line and back to the line of oaks on the left – see this video for more. We are awaiting results from our first bat survey of 2025, to see how the bat population has reacted.

The flightline is on the north side of the lane – the cutting excavation has already reached the boundary fence on the south side of the lane.
