The Chilterns Conservation Board supports
- The mitigation hierarchy being fully applied, for Leather Lane this particularly applies to the mature oak trees and the habitat they provide for roosting, feeding and commuting bats.
- Alternative bridge designs, including the overbridge to the north proposed by local people and green bridge options, to be fully considered as part of the mitigation for habitat loss. The landscape impact of different designs should also be assessed.
- Full discussion with local stakeholders, including land owners, as to the best means of securing the most appropriate design.
