Objectives

Following the successful meeting with EKFB, which established that our bridge design (the ‘North Side option’ ) is a practical proposition, we are embarking on the second phase of our campaign – to get it built.

Our objectives are

  • To encourage EKFB to take ownership of the north side option, and implement it.
  • Failing this, to put pressure on Bucks to refuse any schedule 17 application for the southern route. They can now do this, as we have shown that the works ‘could reasonably be built elsewhere’.
  • To re-establish the wildlife corridor. Even with our bridge, there remains a gap in the corridor for the track. This could be mitigated with a ‘Green’ (planted) bridge, or a purpose built bat crossing.
  • To continue to monitor HS2 activity in the AONB for compliance with the licenses issued by Natural England

This continues to cost substantial sums of money. Loans were taken to pay the bill for the bridge design, and we require the services of lawyers and professional ecologists to continue the fight. Please continue to support the Crowdfunder !
